SiS began as an annual event in 2018. Hosted in the Saguaro High School cafeteria, Sisters in STEM invites elementary and middle school girls to take part in activities and demonstrations in every STEM discipline to showcase STEM and how much fun it can be.
Now, SiS is gaining traction.
With $5,000 from the Arizona Diamondbacks School Challenge Program, the "SiS Roadshow" will come to life. These funds will purchase a trailer to take SiS to outlying communities, rather than just Saguaro.
With the additional support we've received during COVID-19, we've helped to create CyberSiS, the initiative that teaches young students about the importance of cybersecurity and keeping themselves safe online.
Along with CyberSiS, our team has developed monthly virtual events to keep students engaged with STEM all year.
Our goal is to partner with schools around the country, using our resources to share our love for STEM.
